En la Pampa Argentina.

Una detención en medio de la pampa argentina. Ese enorme mar de tierra, en el cual es difícil detenerse.

Es una gran extensión de cultivo, de labor agrícola, que como toda extensión laboral permanece igual a sí misma a pesar del tiempo. No deja de sorprendernos el que una extensión agrícola con cinco siglos de cultivo no deje ninguna forma.

Pero aquí tenemos algo aunque está fuera de la labor. En este mar de tierra, indistinto, donde la pérdida de orientación puede ser fatal, aparece un primer gesto espacial de residencia. Quienes habitan el lugar han construido una atenuación a la extensión natural con este conjunto de árboles que son lo distinto, lo distinguible.

Residir es permanecer y es dominar. Se reside en el ejercicio  de la libertad, ante este gran plano horizontal no se queda sumido en él, tampoco se lo rechaza como si no existiera, ni se lo abarca en su totalidad.

De una manera eficiente con unos pocos árboles se arma un espacio que contiene bajo el follaje, quedando en una extensión medida que deja transcurrir al mar de la pampa en la lejanía.

La construcción de esta proximidad habitable permite residir en un reconocimiento de la lejanía que no se deja medir. Este es un primer gesto de dominio del espacio que construye un umbral con la naturaleza para habitar en lo templado.

Tempered threshold before and within the expanse of America.

In the Argentine Pampas.

A stop in the middle of the Argentine pampas. This enormous sea of earth, in which it is difficult to stop.

It is a great expanse of cultivation, of agricultural labour, that like all working landscapes remains unchanging despite the

the passing centuries. It is surprising that an agricultural expanse of five centuries of cultivation does not leave behind any form.

But although it is outside of this labour, here we have something. In this indistinct sea of earth, where loss of orientation can be fatal, a primary spatial gesture of residence appears. Those who inhabit the place have constructed an attenuation to the natural expanse with this conjunction of trees that are distinct, distinguishable.

To reside is to remain and to master.  It lies in the exercise of liberty, before this great horizontal plane, not immersed in it, nor rejecting it as if it does not exist, nor fully embracing its totality.

In an efficient manner a space is armed with some small trees that contain space below the foliage, the expanse being allowed to elapse into the sea of the plain in the distance.

The construction of this habitable proximity allows residence in  recognizing the distance that refuses to be measured. This is a first gesture of dominion over space that constructs a threshold with nature in order to inhabit what has been tempered.
