Una detención del bus en un largo viaje  por América.

Se ofrece algo, servicios, comida y baños pero en la detención es poco se recibe como pobre.

Viajar en bus tiene su potencia en el desplazamiento, todo el constreñimiento se justifica por el avance en la distancia. Si nos acompañamos de música, la extensión se vuelve comprensible asociándola a una escena del cine.

Pero nos encontramos detenidos en un lugar con leves ofrecimientos, pero pobre en su espacialidad, a poca distancia del exterior del bus que en nada acoge. Es un espacio inhóspito, en esta circunstancia los cuerpos adoptan un gesto compensatorio, de dominio. Vamos en la extensión comprimidos pero rescatados por la velocidad, por el prodigio de la velocidad mecánica; el dominio de la energía permite acceder a la velocidad que domina las grandes distancias, suspendiendo el tiempo para lograr alcanzarlas.

Volviendo a la necesaria detención, donde se pierde la potencia de la energía desplegada en la velocidad, se diría que volvemos a la tierra de dónde veníamos. Pero no, no estamos sumidos en la tierra, habitamos la tierra. Aquí se nos muestra una abertura del habitar, que es estar distante de la tierra, habitamos en un suelo.

En esta detención nuestro cuerpo habla con su actitud, a pesar de las dimensiones de menos, o a raíz de ellas el cuerpo permanece erguido, haciendo de un bulto un asiento, para permanecer distante del pavimento, volviéndolo suelo.

Para recibir estas relaciones con la tierra y el espacio es que partimos a recorrer América.

Speed, detention, land and ground

A brief stop of the bus in a long journey through America.

It offers one or two things – services, food and bathrooms – but the wait impoverishes us.

To journey in a bus has its potency in movement, all the constraints are justified   by the advance in distance. If we are accompanied by music the expanse of the landscape becomes comprehensible through its association with cinematic scenes.

We find ourselves detained in a place with a few things we need, but whose spatiality is poor: close to the exterior of the bus it is not welcoming at all. An inhospitable space. In this circumstance bodies adopt a compensatory gesture, to do with authority. Going on such a long journey we are compromised but rescued by speed, by the marvel of mechanical speed; the authority of energy that permits access to the velocity that rules great distances, suspending time to achieve the journey.

Returning to the inevitable detention this experience of stopping involves, where the potential of energy expended in speed is lost, it might be said we return to the earth from which we have come. Not at all, we are not sunk into the land, we inhabit the land. Here it shows us a sort of living that is to be distant from the land, a kind of living in the ground.

In this detention our body speaks with its attitude, despite smaller dimensions, or because of them, the body remains upright, and in order to remain distant from the floor surface, the making of a bundle into a seat transforms it into ground.

We start to explore America in order to understand these relations with the land and space.
